Payment processing fees are a real cost on every order, and one of the easiest to lose track of because Shopify doesn't put them front and center next to your sales numbers.
Step 1: Check Your Payout Details
In Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Payments and open a specific payout. Each payout breaks down gross sales, refunds, adjustments, and the fee taken by your payment provider for that batch of transactions.
Step 2: Export Payout Reports for a Trend View
Individual payouts show fees per batch, not a running total. To see fees trending over a month or quarter, you'll need to export multiple payout reports and total the fee column yourself — Shopify doesn't aggregate this into a single ongoing report.
Step 3: Cross-Reference With Your Sales Numbers
Because fee data lives in Payments/payouts and sales data lives in Analytics, seeing "net revenue after processing fees" in one place means manually combining numbers from two separate places in Shopify Admin.
Where This Falls Short
There's no native report that shows transaction fees as a trend alongside sales, and no way to see fees broken down by sales channel or product in Shopify Admin directly.
Where SnapDash Fits
SnapDash isn't a payment-fee reporting tool specifically — for the exact breakdown of what your payment provider charged on a given payout, Shopify's own payout reports remain the source of truth. What SnapDash does add is automatic net sales calculation from your real order data (after refunds and discounts) on a live Financial dashboard, so the revenue side of the margin conversation doesn't require the same manual export-and-total process.
